TIME FOR PRAYER - FAQs

QUESTION

ANSWER

When is it?

Each Saturday morning from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the Church.

Do I have to stay for the full hour?

No, come for 5, 30, 50 minutes or stay for the whole hour. You are free to come and go as you wish.

Is it like the old fashioned Prayer Meetings?

No, in those days we all  sat together and those who felt called, prayed aloud.  In our prayer hour various options are provided to suit all needs.

What options?

If you would like someone to pray for you, there are trained stewards in the rear corner of the church who will listen to your problem or joy and then pray aloud, (but quietly), for you.

If you require guidance on what to pray about, take a seat at the front of the church and use any of the leaflets on display which have guidance and list prayers for all occasions.

Finally, if you wish simply to be alone and quiet, sit anywhere in the body of the Church and pray silently. Or simply sit. In today’ s hectic life, it does us all good simply to sit, if only for a few minutes each week! (Who knows, perhaps God will make himself heard.)

Is it completely silent except for the murmur of prayers?

No, a CD of  quiet and unobtrusive music plays throughout the session.

Is there anyone who can advise me on problems.

Not specifically. The prayer hour is to allow you to place your problem before The Lord and listen for his response.

Will I be approached by anyone asking me questions.

Someone may say how nice to see you, but there is no overt evangelism. The church is just delighted that you have found the time to be there.

How many go?

The numbers vary between 10 and 20 each week.
